On Wednesday 31st of May, five teams battled it out for supremacy at the North Shore Squash Club in Takapuna. 17 students took place in the fierce competition in teams of three and four. After hours of endless heroic games, our top girls’ team and our top mixed team made it through to the finals. Both teams were up against Orewa. The girls tried their best but were out classed on the day by a bigger and better team. Congratulations to Christina Longmuir, Brooke James and Greer Thomas. They earned a well-deserved second place. Our mixed top team fought to the end. The first of the three games went to sudden death with Tairell Henare narrowly losing out. The second was won easily by Charlotte Moore. The third and final game to decide the competition was a tough one but the Orewa player just beat Beau Aspinall to take the win. Tom Bodger also played some fantastic games helping his team get through to the final. Congratulations to all those who took part, played hard, and were real ambassadors for Northcross.
