Harbour Basketball Registration
Registration with Harbour Basketball
All players must register with Harbour Basketball or they will not be able to play.
This needs to be completed each Semester.
This will link you to the Northcross club. If you have registered previously you still need to go in to the link below but most fields will be prefilled with your previous information. When the teams are selected, the players will be added to the correct team so that their name appears on the iPads and you receive glory league videos of your games.
Can you all please go to this link below. It costs nothing and only takes a few minutes.
Trials
All students who register, will be placed in a team, however in order to ensure your child is placed in the team that is right for them, trials will take place.
Semester One trials will be held Tuesday 27 January through to Thursday 29 January. Friday 30 January may be used. Days and times for your child will be emailed out after the close of registration. Subsequent trial information will be emailed out the evening prior. It is imperative that you check you emails daily this week.
While we appreciate the support from parents, due to the format of the trials it is advised that parents do not attend.
Training
Training days: Either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday
Time: After school
Location: The NX Gym
Uniform: it is expected all players are in school uniform, no mufti. Once allocated - playing singlets are NOT to be work for trainings.
Specific days and times will be dependent on which team each student is placed in.
All girls teams will train on Wednesdays.
Please note – Training days and times may change between semester 1 and 2.
Selection process
We go through a very thorough selection process to finalise our teams and players will be placed in a team that our selectors have determined best suits their ability and experience. While inevitably there will be some movement of players, both up and down teams, it is important to remember that this movement can be a result of the following factors:
- New players who did not play last year can create movement for other players, especially if they are placed in a higher team, resulting in other players moving to a lower team.
- Individual development and growth over the summer months. If individual players have put in an extra effort and completed additional training over the holiday, this can definitely show during trials, resulting in higher performance on the court and some movement between teams.
We understand that some students will have questions regarding the trial process and eventually the team selection – if your child does, please ask them to see Anna in the sports office.
As per our Sports Selection Policy, no correspondence regarding team selection will be entered into. If you wish to view it, please download the document at the bottom of this page.
If you have any basketball queries, please email basketball@northcross.school.nz

If you are interested in being a coach or manager for Basketball, please indicate this on registration.
Please note: All coaches and managers are required to be police vetted by Northcross. The relevant forms and instructions will be emailed out to you to be completed and returned in a prompt fashion. If you have previously been vetted by Northcross, we will advise if further action is required.
