In Term two, over 70 applicants auditioned for the 2019 ‘NX Got Talent’ show! Auditions were held over 4 weeks and it proved a tough challenge watching so many amazing and talented performances, to have to whittle them down to the top 10 for the school final.
Audition entries varied from solo to group singers, dancers to contortionists, musical instruments from violin, guitar to the ukulele. This year saw some new entries from hilarious comedic acts, magic tricks to an actual ventriloquist!
The criteria was simple - can you wow a crowd with your talent in less than 4 minutes? After getting 70 entries down to the top 10 finalists, the performers were ready to show their skills to the whole school! Our four amazing hosts combined their humour, confidence and stage presence to keep the audience engaged between performances!
The 10 finalists did such a great job and performed their act with pride! While our judges went to deliberate, we were entertained by the school teacher band dressed in wigs and fluro!
The judges decision was made! In 2nd place was Emma Robins from Room 12 with a beautiful classical singing performance and in 1st place, was Emily Cuff from Room 35 who performed both a singing and ventriloquism act with her own puppet, Violet.
What an afternoon of entertainment and congratulations to all those who entered!
