Our very competitive annual school speech competition was held on Friday 5 July 2019. Each team in the school nominated their top speakers to compete in the finals and as always, the standard was exceptionally high. The audience had the opportunity to listen to speeches on a diverse range of topics and we were privileged to have Jenni Taylor from Long Bay College and Jessica Lane from Rangitoto College as guest judges. Together with our Head of Drama, Mark Jensen, they had a difficult task on their hands in selecting the top speakers. Congratulations to all finalists.
Placings were as follows:
1st Place: Alice Dibble- Why we need to spread hope, not fear.
2nd Place: Jack Newman- The English Language.
3rd Place: Kera Mete- Why verbal abuse is harmful.
