Term 1 Orienteering Results

On Thursday 20th March, five NX teams attended the Orienteering Zone Day at Onepoto Domain.

The conditions were perfect and run times were fast. Three of our teams placed 2nd on the day earning a spot at Auckland Champs next term.

Y8 Boys – Lucas Deng, Ryan Wang, Joon Hwang, Ethan Tu, Andrew Wang, Adam Su.
Y7 Boys – Ryan Deng, Yeonjun Moon, Juan Oosthuizen, Jayden Xue, Kai Hewetson, Theo Callan.
Y7 Girls – Kaitlyn McCarty, Ariel Huang, Amy Tan, Rachel Rodney, Dorothy Leung, Mira Li.
Our second Year 8 Boys team were 4th and the Year 8 Girls team were 9th.

Fastest individuals on their course included Jayden Xue, Yeonjun Moon, Ryan Deng, and Naia Carson Neufeld. Naia has also qualified for Auckland Champs as an individual runner.

Additionally, last Thursday was the 5th and final orienteering sprint event with 22 students qualifying for the sprint final this coming Sunday based on their overall placing after the 5 events (10 NX students placed in the top 4 – our Y8 boys taking the top 4 places!).
