Northcross prides itself on being a top sporting school. We believe in the value of Sport and the positive impact it has on our students during the two years they are with us. We value and promote healthy competition and believe that new skills, attitudes and character is built through these sporting experiences.
We offer a vast number of sporting codes across a variety of different levels for both boys and girls and are exceptionally lucky to have a number of committed staff and parents who volunteer their time and effort to organise the implementation of different sports teams into North Harbour, Auckland, National tournaments, Weekly and/or Social competitions.
Every year we send teams to AIMS - a National Sporting Tournament held in Tauranga in September. Last year 200 NX students competed in their chosen sport. We have had great success in this tournament over the last 10 years, especially with our Boys Football team who have won the title of National Champions six times.
NORTHCROSS SPORTING PHILOSOPHY
We believe in:
Individual growth through challenge and learning within sport; Participating with competitiveness and fair play; Creating enjoyment and encouraging enthusiasm; Providing opportunities; Showing respect for all involved; Being committed and hard working; Striving for success; Being gracious in defeat and humble in victory; Supporting and encouraging others; Building character; Taking pride in ourselves, our school and our community.
Every student who plays a sport at Northcross Intermediate, and their parent/caregiver, must read, sign and return a copy of our Fairplay Code of Conduct.
